The client required a safe, durable, and visually seamless glass railing height extension that would improve balcony safety without obstructing the panoramic city view. Solution: Tempered Laminated Glass Railing Height Extension
House of Glass installed a custom glass railing height extension using clear tempered laminated safety glass supported by a precision-engineered metal frame structure.
The extension panels consisted of laminated glass made from two layers of 5 mm clear tempered safety glass bonded with a 1.52 mm structural PVB interlayer. This laminated configuration ensures superior strength and safety, preventing glass fragments from falling even in rare breakage situations.
The glass panels were installed with custom metal support posts and framing, extending the railing height by approximately 600 mm. The metal support system was powder-coated to match the existing railing colour, ensuring visual consistency and seamless integration with the original structure.
